Public toilets across Newton could potentially undergo a £35,000 upgrade, a recent news report in the local media has been able to find.
The Back Lane toilets in Newtown are in the process of being transferred from Powys County Council to Newtown Town Council.
During a recent meeting, Newtown Town Council decided to approve three resolutions on this project – to authorise the project team to complete tender for operation and management of the toilets; to conclude negotiations with Powys County Council for signing a lease that will then progress into negotiations for a freehold transfer; and to authorise the team to move forward with the scheme for the improvement of the Back Lane toilet block.
